Apple fritters are one of the most delicious apple recipes. Everyone loves apple fritters but they are traditionally deep fried and not so easy to make. However, we will easily make them in the air fryer in this recipe and avoid all risks from hot oil. These apple fritters with milk and butter glaze on top will taste as delicious as deep fried ones even though their texture will be different.
Let’s move on to the recipe below now!
Olive oil spray
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1½ teaspoons cinnamon powder
2 large eggs (at room temperature)
2/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract, divided
2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
¼ cup butter, melted
1 cup confectioner’s sugar
1 tablespoon milk
Preheat the air fryer by setting the temperature to 400°F and the timer to 3 minutes. Once you press the “Start/Pause” button, it will start warming up.
Place the parchment paper in an 8-inch baking tray, or air fryer basket, and mist it lightly with olive oil spray.
Add flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cinnamon powder in a large bowl and mix them.
Crack eggs into the same bowl, add milk, lemon juice, and vanilla, and whisk them well until smooth batter forms.
Add apples and fold them into the mixture well.
Spoon ¼ cupful of batter onto the baking tray with 2-inch intervals. You can use cookie scoop to do so.
Mist them lightly with olive oil spray.
Open the air fryer, place the baking tray, and close the air fryer.
Set the timer to 8 minutes and press the “Start/Pause” button to start baking.
Bake the apple fritters until golden brown by flipping them over halfway through.
Meanwhile, mix butter, confectioner’s sugar, and milk in a bowl until smooth.
Once the apple fritters are baked, transfer them to a wire rack to cool down a little.
Place the apple fritters on a serving platter, and drizzle with the glaze.
Enjoy the apple fritters!
