Caffè Mocha Recipe

Mocha is a chocolate-flavored milky coffee drink originated in Italy. The word “mocha” is the shortened form of the original name mochaccino. It is in fact an espresso drink, but can be made with other coffees as well, depending on what you have in hand.

You can give chocolate flavor to the mocha by cocoa powder and sugar mixture, or chocolate syrup instead. You can use milk or dark chocolate as well for adding chocolate flavor to make mocha. There is also white chocolate mocha which is made by adding white chocolate.

Caffè mocha is a version of caffè latte and served with some milk froth on top similar to cappuccino. It might be garnished with some cocoa powder or ground cinnamon. Whipped cream and marshmallows can also be added to it.

  • RECIPE NOTES FOR CAFFÈ MOCHA:

You can use any milk in this recipe, but your drink will become richer and creamier as the milk you use becomes higher in fat.

Instead of making mocha using the jar method described in the directions above, you can make it on the stove. To do so, pour all the ingredients for the drink into a pot, and heat until steaming while vigorously stirring the mixture to have a creamier and foamy consistency. In this method, milk does not have to be hot in advance.

    HOW TO SERVE CAFFÈ MOCHA:

Mocha is usually served in a tall tumbler like a highball glass and drunk with a straw.
