Salmon Patties Air Fryer Recipe

Air fryer salmon patties are a great way to incorporate seafood into your dinner. All family members will like eating salmon patties, especially the kids who usually do not favor the recipes made with whole salmon filets and steaks. Salmon patties will make your kids eat seafood with fun.
Salmon patties made mainly with salmon, breadcrumbs, onion and eggs are originally deep fried in oil. However, the recipe below makes you air fry them. Air fryer salmon patties are much easier than pan-fried salmon patties and use only a small amount of oil. You also do not have to deal with oil splatter all around your stove after dinner.
You can make the salmon patties recipe below with both canned and fresh salmon. You can also use salmon steak or filet leftovers in this recipe. In fact, since fish leftovers do not taste as good as the day they are freshly made, salmon patties or croquettes are the best way to consume them with pleasure.

1 14.75-ounce canned salmon or 1 libre fresh skinless salmon, cut into chunks
¼ cup onion, chopped
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
Blend salmon, egg, and olive oil in a food processor for 10 seconds.
Transfer the mixture into a bowl, add breadcrumbs, onion, salt and black pepper and mix them well.
Preheat the air fryer by setting the temperature to 370°F and timer to 3 minutes. Once you press the “Start/Pause” button, it will start warming up.
Lightly grease the air fryer basket or tray with olive oil spray, or line them with a parchment paper.
Shape the salmon mixture into patties and arrange them on the basket or tray in a single layer.
Place them in the air fryer.
Adjust the timer to 10 minutes and press the “Start/Pause” button to start cooking salmon patties.
Cook them until they are golden brown and flip them halfway through cooking.
Open the air fryer and transfer salmon patties onto a serving platter.
Drizzle some lemon juice over the salmon patties.

RECIPE NOTES FOR SALMON PATTIES:
If you do not have an air fryer, you can cook them in the oven to avoid pan frying. To do so, heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, arrange the salmon patties on the tray lined with parchment paper, and cook them for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
You can store leftover salmon patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can also freeze them to consume much later.
HOW TO SERVE SALMON PATTIES:
If you are to serve salmon patties as a main dish, then you can serve them with green salad, plain pasta, and yogurt.
You can also make burgers with air fryer salmon patties if your loved ones look for the nearest salmon burger. Salmon burgers will add some joy to your dinner. They are also very popular as a school lunch.
