Honey Garlic Chicken Wings Air Fryer Recipe

One of the most common foods cooked in an air fryer is chicken wings. Rapid hot air circulation in the air fryer makes the chicken wings crispy and perfectly cooked whereas this is not always the case in a traditional oven. Crispy chicken wings can only be possible by deep frying but it is not a healthy way of cooking. Air fryers also require much less time to cook chicken wings. So, they are very efficient and effective in making chicken wings and always yield a healthy and delicious result.

16 pieces chicken wings, separated into drummettes
Salt and black pepper to taste
¾ cup potato starch
Olive oil spray
2 tablespoon butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1½ teaspoons soy sauce
¼ cup honey
1 tablespoon sliced fresh scallions for garnish
Preheat air fryer by setting the temperature to 375°F and the timer to 3 minutes. Once you press the “Start/Pause” button, it will start warming up.
Dry the chicken wings with a paper towel and place in a bowl.
Add salt, black pepper and potato starch over the chicken wings and rub them with seasoning.
Open the air fryer and lightly grease the basket with olive oil spray.
Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer in the basket, lightly mist them with olive oil spray and close the air fryer.
Set the timer to 20 minutes, press the “Start/Pause” button to start cooking and shake the basket halfway through.
After 20 minutes, increase the temperature to 400°F and set the timer to 15 minutes, press the “Start/Pause” button to continue cooking and shake the basket halfway through.
Once the chicken wings are cooked, their outside should turn into golden brown.
Meanwhile, add butter, garlic powder, soy sauce, and honey in a bowl and mix.
When chicken wings are cooked, open the air fryer, add the chicken wings to the mixture in the bowl and mix them. Make sure that the chicken wings are completely coated with the honey mixture.
Let the chicken wings rest for 3 minutes.
Serve them warm.
