Beer-battered avocados are one of the most popular dishes of avocado fans. Avocado is a very healthy food but no one can say beer-battered avocados are healthy because they are deep fried in the original recipe. However, we are going to make them in the air fryer in this recipe, and we will have a healthy meal as well as the same taste and texture as deep fried avocados.
By the way, if you abstain from alcohol for any reason, you should know that you can replace the beer with soda water in this recipe. You can use water, too, but soda will affect the taste and texture better. You can also think of increasing the amount of seasoning depending on your palate taste.
Let’s move on to the recipe below and make some air fryer avocados!
1 cup lager beer
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 garlic cloves, minced
1½ teaspoons paprika
Salt to taste
2 avocados, pitted and peeled
Olive oil spray
Salsa sauce for serving
Add beer, flour, garlic, paprika, and salt into a bowl, mix them and leave the mixture at room temperature for 2 hours to thicken.
After 2 hours, preheat the air fryer by setting the temperature to 380°F and the timer to 3 minutes. Once you press the “Start/Pause” button, it will start warming up.
Cut the avocados in half, then each half into 3 wedges.
Dip the avocado wedges in beer mixture and coat them well with the mixture.
Open the air fryer and lightly grease the basket with olive oil spray. If your air fryer has a rotating basket, use that.
Remove the avocados from the beer mixture and place them into the air fryer basket while making sure to drip off excess batter before putting them in the basket.
Mist lightly with olive oil spray and close the air fryer.
Set the timer to 3 minutes and press the “Start/Pause” button to start frying.
Cook them until the avocados are golden brown by shaking the basket halfway through cooking if you do not use a rotating basket.
Once cooked, open the air fryer and remove the avocados onto a serving platter.
Serve warm with salsa sauce.
